      <image:caption>There are two types of Mode Story Distribution Units; one that is used to distribute a Mode Branded Story on creator’s sites, and one is used to embed any story, on any website, by a Mode.com user. For a Mode Branded Story, a brand collaborates with Mode to sponsor an editorial story on Mode.com, which includes a package of ads and the Distribution Unit. The story and ads live on Mode.com, and they are placed on Mode’s creators’ websites via the Distribution Unit. For the Embed Unit, anyone can embed a story, Branded or not, from Mode.com simply by clicking the "embed" button and pasting it on a website. The goal of both units was to look like the "full story" that the user could consume on the creator's site without needing to visit Mode.com. The challenge was fitting all the elements of the story in a small space below an article, especially in the case of the Branded Stories, which needed to include the ads from the package.</image:caption>

The most important goal was to grab the user's attention with interesting and high quality editorial video content, and thus create a desire to complete the preroll ad. Each placement had the same goals, but different challenges, which were solved in different visual ways.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I live in Los Angeles and work remotely at Instacart as a Senior Product Designer. I am currently working on AI experiences for Instacart’s retailers and on our own marketplace. In 2025, I worked on Restaurants (an experience embedded on Instacart, powered by Uber) and Fizz (an separate app for alcohol delivery, focused on group ordering). Before that, I worked on the Instacart ads team, creating user experiences that improve grocery shopping for customers, connect customers with new brands, and help grow the business. Before Instacart, I managed a team of designers at Healthline Media. My leadership role taught me how to make an impact through relationship building, resolving people problems, and supporting, mentoring and inspiring other designers - and others in different disciplines. I was been able to think through business and design problems more holistically and strategically, and improve processes and quality of work on teams I’ve worked on. My leadership experience has improved my problem solving skills and made my design solutions more impactful in my role as an IC designer. Some of my favorite things to do are: hang out at the dog park or go on hikes with my husband and our 2 pit bull mixes, try out new restaurants, jigsaw puzzle while listening to audiobooks, and crochet blankets while watching sci-fi TV. 3 words that best describe me - Kind, hard-working, minimalist.</image:caption>
